This is a new style of card that I have not made before so I had a lot of fun designing one!
This is a sample of the beautiful new Nautical Expedition Designer Series papers coming out in the Summer Mini on May 1st.
So here is what you see when the card comes out of the envelope.
Here is what you see when the card has been opened. (You might need to be on hand so that the person opening the card knows how to set it up). Or, maybe you include a little note as to how to prop it open?
Here is a view from the side so that you can see the "easel".
Now for a close up of the front design.
And finally, here is how you score the card stock.
I started with card stock that is 9 3/4"x 4 1/4". Score at 5 1/2". Then score the 4 1/4" square from the fold out to the left corner. That left outer flap is actually coming up, not going down like it looks, for some reason, in the picture.
Add the adhesive to the front triangle like you see below. Then place the 4 1/4" square stamped and decorated front piece onto the front of the card by simply laying it exactly on top of the 4 1/4" scored front piece which is the left side of the opened card. Did you get all of that?
In other words, I cut a separate 4 1/4" square of Cherry Cobbler, decorated it, and added it to the front triangle.
Card stock: Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black, Whisper White, #122343 Nautical Expedition Designer Series Paper $10.95 in the Summer Mini Catalog coming out May 1! (I used 1 1/2"x 4" on the card front and 3/4"x 4" on the inside of the card.)
Stamp sets: #115022 Loads of Love page 73 $23.95; #115024 Loads of Love Accessories page 73 $20.95; #120681 Best Dad Ever (new Summer Mini) $14.95; #115026 Lovely As a Tree page 114 $27.95;
Ink: Always Artichoke, Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip (dog), Basic Gray (dog), Cajun Craze (dog); pages 165-169;
Punches: #120906 2 1/2" Circle Punch (Center white circle) $16.95; #119882 Scallop Border Punch page 201 $15.95; (I started with a 1/2" piece of black to create the scallop that goes under the truck. I started with a 1 1/8"x 4" piece of black c/s to create the scallop on the inside of the card.) #119869 1/2" Circle Punch (I layered 3 black circles two times to create the "stops" for the easel.)
Bigz Die: #113469 Scallop Circle #2 page 207 $19.95 (Cherry Cobbler Circle);
Accessories: #112530 Circle Scissors page 199-cut a 2 3/4" black circle- $29.95. This is a really important tool to own! I don't need it all of the time, but when you need it, you need it!
Note: I inked the "grass" beneath the tall single tree in Lovely as a Tree and stamped it on top of the stippled grass to give the grass a little more definition and interest.
Okay! Are you ready to try making one of these TWISTED EASEL CARDS?
You can keep it extremely simple or do a little layering. I'm sure that you will come up with some great ideas!

Sandy, your twisted card is absolutely beautiful! I love the way you placed the truck inside the scallop. Great job! BTW, I love your header! TFS.
