Believe it or not, this table is holding 101 pounds of peaches (minus 30 peaches that wouldn't fit)!
My friend, Barbara Thomas, and I left at 6:30 a.m. yesterday morning to drive up to Littlerock CA for the annual peach picking adventure!
Isn't this amazing!
Would you like to enjoy a peach with me? It really doesn't get any better than this when it comes to fresh peaches:)
If you want to drop by in the next few days, you can enjoy one with me!
I always go to Youngblood Farms. The season began August 15th and will open for two weeks.
Their hours are 8:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m.
If you are close enough to drive up, look at the end of the post for an address and directons.
Each person is given buckets, a picker, and a wagon.
Here's Barbara out in the grove with the picker.
Each bucket holds about twenty five pounds. Barbara picked 101 pounds and I picked 131 pounds (neighbors wanted some, too)
Here we are weighing our first bucket of peaches. Yep! Right at 25 pounds!
And here are the rest of the buckets ready to weigh.
Are you wondering what I am going to do with 100 pounds of peaches? Well, I will give a few more away, and then I will start cutting them for the freezer. I cut two cups, add 1 tsp of Fruit Fresh, put them into a quart Ziplock Freezer bag, and then have them to enjoy on waffles, cereal, salads, all year long!!!
Oh my! I have a lot of cutting to do in the next week! Thank heavens they aren't all ripe on the same day!
Youngbloods address is 7624 E Ave. U Littlerock, CA 93543.
From my home, we drove 210 East, 15 N, 138 (Pear Blossom Hwy) West. go to 75th street and make a right on Ave U. You'll see the sign in several hundred feet. It took about one hour and 15 minutes to drive.
Of course you can go up the Hwy 18, up through the Antelope Valley if you live West of Duarte.

Oh my they look so yummy. Are you close to Fresno? We lived 33 years in CA. Irvine, Newport Beach, and Ramona.
I know the peaches in the Sanger area were just out of this world. Thought you may be close.
