I saw someone use one of our large pearls in the center of the Shamrock instead of the button so I decided to try that. I think that white gives a nice contrast to the Garden Green card stock.
When you get a Holiday Stamp saying that you really like, I suggest that you hold on it even after it retires. Stampin' Up! doesn't come out with a new Happy St. Patrick's Day, for instance, each year.
Oh good grief! I totally forgot that I had bought the current St. Patricks Day stamp out of the Occasons Mini and could have used that! Seriously:):):):)!!!
Here is the easiest way that I found to make the Shamrock.
I used the #114525 Oval Bigz Die pg 220 to make the stem.
I also used the #119850 1 3/4" Circle Punch as a base to hold the Shamrock leaves.
So here is what you will do.
Cut out one of the largest ovals on the Oval Bigz Die. Then move the card stock over the edge on one side and cut it again to get the sliver for the stem.
- Punch out one 1 3/4" circle.
- Score it in half in both directions.
- Cut out one quarter of the circle.
- Add adhesive to the remaining three quarters.
- Add two folded hearts to each quarter so that it looks like this.
Now you have a piece that you can easily move and place over the stem.
I put it Dotto all over the back of the circle and the hearts, placed it over the stem and pressed it into place. I trimmed off a little of the end of the stem.
The pearl is added with some Crystal Effects. You will find these in the Occasions Mini Catalog page26. They are 8mm, a sheet of 40 pearls.
Thanks again to Barbara Thomas for such a great idea!
