Party Hearty Tri-Fold Card for our Grandson's 1st Birthday!

Our youngest grandson, Jeremy, will be one year old at the end of August!
Talk about being prepared!  I rarely get this far ahead.
When I get my Big Shot numbers, I'll add a "1" to the right panel of this card.



This alphabet has now retired, but I don't buy new alphabets each year.
The Classic Stars jumbo Roller is rolled tone on tone (Tempting Turquoise).

Supplies:  Party Hearty, Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, and Green Galore card stocks, Long Edge Scallop Punch, 1 3/4" 1 1/4"  1 3/8", and 3/4"  Circle Punches, Stampin' Up! #113483 Pennant Bigz Die (Real Red scallop), #113468 Scallop Circle (white) #112530 Circle Scissors (Green Galore  2 3/4" circle), Bold Brights Brads.

     I saw a card that Carol Taggart made and she gave me the inspiration to get started with this set!

She used Chocolate chip for her base, To the Nines  Specialty card stock and Friends 24-7 for the set to complete the card.

Razzleberry Tri-Fold Card

I've been itching to try one of these Tri-Fold Cards so Saturday was my day!
I'm including two pictures because I couldn't decide which way I like it the best.
Let me know if you have an opinion:  With or without the So Saffron triangles?



Here I added some So Saffron triangles, halved, to the Razzleberry.



By the way, this cards folds up to fit in a regular medium size envelope!

If you want to try this, start with 5 1/2"x 12" card stock.
Score at 2", 4" 8" and 10".
Cut  in at 1 1/2" at the 2" mark and go to the 10" mark.

The backing for this card is white card stock.
I learned alot about working with a white card stock base!

For instance, initially, I cut the So Saffron card stock in little pieces to fit each fold.
Do NOT do this!
The So Saffron  needs to be all one piece, scored.
..Same with the Razzleberry Lemonaide Designer Paper in the center.
In fact, it needs to layer UNDER the Razzleberry on the sides so that the white does not show.

I took this card apart so many times, I'm surprised that it is still holding together!

and am planning to teach a Tri-fold class in August here
in my craft room in Duarte CA!

Fourth of July Vertical Tent Card

After I designed this Fourth of July Vertical Tent card,
I realized that I do not own a current "4th of July" stamp, so I had to dig back into my retired collection to come up with one. 
There is a Happy 4th stamp in Stampin' Up!'s Independence Day Stamp Set.
Full instructions for the vertical tent card are in yesterday's post.



The Real Red strips are 3/8" each.  The top Brilliant Blue stars are mounted with dimensionals.  It is easier to add the Dazzling Diamonds Glitter after the stars after they are attached to the card,
 in my opinion.

The inside is very simple.

Have fun designing more of these!
Don't be afraid of these cards!  Like I said yesterday.  the first time that you make it, you may wrinkle your brow while you are figuring out how to fold it.  After that, it is quite simple!

A Little Birdie Told Me: Vertical Tent Card

These tent cards are very unique!  Isn't that what we love!

A Little Birdie Told Me is a set that is retiring June 30th
so order it quickly if you want to add it to your collection.

I saw this basic design at Michelle Halleen's meeting.  Ann McCauley gave us instructions and a lot of ideas for this type of card.  This was her design also.  I just changed a few little things here and there.

You're going to be tempted to try to change these numbers so that
you are not dealing with 16ths of an inch, but the folds don't work well
when you do.

You would do all of the folding BEFORE you decorate it.
I just opened up my finished card to show you the folds.

Fold Line A as a Valley Fold.



Fold Line B as a Valley fold.



Lines C and D fold as Mountain Folds.



Getting this folded the first time is kind of like
patting your tummy and rubbing your head at the same time!
Once you've done it, however, you've got it!

Totally Tool Shaker Card

My father-in-law is a Mister Fix-it guy and has helped us so much over the years.

This is the card that I made him for Father's Day.

Barbara Jackson designed this card for one of her classes here at my home.  I changed the card stock for the frame to To The Nines Speciality since it will be in the 2009-2010 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog. (Barbara's choice of card stock looked great, but will not be in the new book.)

Four Generations on Father's Day

We loved having our family over for lunch today for Father's Day!

We had four dads here:  Sandy's Dad, Dave's Dad, Dave, and  Shelly's husband, Gabe
Our son, Brad, is in the back.
Gabe is holding Joshua and Jeremy--our two grandsons. :):):)





We are so grateful for our family!

Faux Leather Purse with Cards

Back in March Liz Miller showed this awesome purse at Michelle Halleen's meeting.  Liz purchased the pattern so she could not hand out instructions.  Anyway, she helped me figure out the pattern so that I could write it down and here is the finished product!

I used the original idea for great inspiration for the purse.

Since I can't put the instructions on my blog either, I decided to teach a class and there are still openings if you are interested in attending.  Look at the end of the post for details about the class.

We'll be learning to make Faux Leather for the Top Note closure and front piece along with getting the instructions for the purse and the cards.  I'm going to use the Baja Breeze even though it will be retired by then.  I'll hope to also have one made up out of new colors before the class.

I had originally planned for us to make 4 of each card but when i tried to fit four of these cards in, they broke the cello bag!
Three cards fit much better.  Four might fit if you were not using dimensionals.

Razzleberry Fifth Avenue Floral

Razzleberry is definitely my favorite new in-color....at least for now!

 This card uses the same watercolor technique with the aqua painter and reinkers that you've been seeing and maybe have even tried by now!

Personally, watercoloring doesn't land in my greatest comfort zone,
but I certainly like doing this technique.

You're seeing a few shadows in this picture because I didn't get my new
Teeny Tiny Wishes set mounted until 9:45 last night!
A little more light would have been nice:).

So you're getting a sneek peak at the new Razzleberry card stock, ribbon, and ink!

I wanted to design a hinge card with one of the new in-colors that we can make in my July Stamp Clubs.  So here is the new Melon Mambo in-color card stock!

Supplies:  the new Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper, the Simple Flower Embosslits die, Stampin' Up!  LIttle Leaves Sizzlit Die, Soft Subtles Brads, the Eyelet Border Punch, Tag Corner Punch, and a texturz plate.   I didn't bother to show you the  opened up position for this card because the new word set that I want to use inside isn't arriving until Wednesday afternoon.
