Here's a fun idea that I for the most part cased from SCS.  I added the ribbon and used a different rub on from my Sale-a-bration rub-ons.  You could change the colors away from a July 4th theme, put different colors of brads in the center and have another very versatile card.

For this card we will be uning the Stampin' Up! Beautiful Butterlies Bigz Die. 
Supplies:  Inspired by Nature and Sweet Salutations, Clear Rhinestone Brads, White taffeta ribbon, Sage Shadow card stock and of course the Printed Window Sheets.
The Sage Shadow is much richer and prettier in person.

Flowers with Polka Dots from the Printed Window Sheets

This was a lot of fun to make.  I cut the Polka Dotted Window Sheet in half and then added the flowers and leaves from the Flowers with leaf Bigz die.  The large Silver Brad makes a nice statement.  You can't see that the flowers are texturized.  It definitely adds more interest.  Yes, I am trying to continue using up my current In-Colors.:)  This card features Pacific Point card stock, ink, and striped ribbon.

This is one of the five cards that we'll be making in my June 22nd Stamp-a-Stack.  Each person will be using an entire package of the  Printed Window Sheets out of the Occasions mini Catalog and LOTS of accessories!

We'll also cut the other Polka Dot Window Sheet in Half and make two cards from the Upsy Daisy Set.

This card uses Baja Breeze card stock, ink and ribbon.

Due to lots  and lots of accessories and a complete package plus of the  Printed Window Sheets.

Celebrating Dave's 65th Birthday!

Most of our family here locally got together yesterday afternoon for a barbeque to celebrate Dave's 65th birthday!  Dave is on the left and his brother, Christopher is the fine guy on the right!

Dave requested "Lime Chocolate Delicious" for dessert.
His family has affectionately called this dessert "goo goo slogum" for many many years!
As always, Joshua, our oldest grandson was  ready and willing to help blow out candles!

"Let's tackle this head on, Grandpa!"



"This is tougher than I thought it was going to be.  Let's try it again"



"Do you think that Grandma put some trick candles in there? 



"This is getting embarrassing.  I've  had a lot of experience.  Really!!"



"Any suggestions?"

Our daughter, Shelly, wanted to try out Brad's motorbike.



Joshua had a great time bouncing on the trampoline and running through the water.



Jeremy loved getting bounced up and down on my knee. He's standing on his
own now, at 8 1/2 months, and will be walking soon, I'm sure.


 
Our nieces, Hayley and Harmony are sisters and great friends!
They would also be great babysitters if they lived closer to Gabe and Shelly.



Well, we didn't get everyone into the pictures! 
But we had a great afternoon of celebrating.

Ideas from Last Night's Stampin' Up! Downline Meeting

 Twelve of us got together here in my craft room in Duarte.  Where's the picture of the group, right!  We were having so much fun that I totally forgot to "capture us" on camera!!!  Next time!!

However, here is the project that Janet Dietzman taught us how to make from the Stampin' Up! Ball Pop Up Die.  Janet is a big Disney fan so she made the die into a Mickey Mouse.  This is my first attempt at putting this xl Bigz die together!  It has rubberbands inside so that you can "sqoosh" it down and put it into a card or a scrapbook!  You can eliminate the ears (Janet's addition) and put pictures and/or stamped images all around the ball.

And then Reiko Sakata showed us how to do a watercolor technique that we saw from Patty Bennett.  We used Stampin' Up!'s Shimmery White card stock; embossed the Fifth Ave. Floral flower, and then used the aqua painters and reinkers and a lot of water to get this effect.  This is the card that Reiko completed.  The rose is cut out and mounted.

Another Mahattan Flower Brayer Card

There are so many color combinations that you could use when you brayer the Manhattan Flower Die.

I used Real Red and Pretty in Pink for this flower to brayer and Garden Green card stock for the leaves.  Of course, this one doesn't have the same dramatic effect as the Regal Rose and Summer Sun combination that I showed you yesterday, however I have a friend who loves red roses!  It will be perfect for her!

As I mentioned yesterday, we'll be brayering a rose card in my June Stamp Clubs.

Manhattan Flower Brayered Card

Patty Bennett showed us this technique earlier and I'm finally trying it and absolutely LOVING it!

This is the debossed side of the Manhattan Flower Die.  I brayered first with Regal Rose and then used a second brayer for Summer Sun.  I used Kiwi Kiss card stock for the leaves which are from the Flower Layers with Leaf Bigz Die.  The tag is from the Sizzlet Tag It and the ribbon is from Sale-a-bration.  Yikes!  I didn't realize until today that I had used the Sale-a-bration ribbon.  It's the perfect match!

We are going to be making this card in my June Stamp Clubs.

5-Petal Flower Punch Flower Pot

These little flower pots are so much fun to make. 
Here is one that you can make if you do not have the Big Shot!

Here is the Flower insert that pulls up:

Supplies:  5-Petal Flower Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch, Eyelet Border Punch, Tea Party Designer Series Paper, 5/8" Very Vanilla Grosgrain Ribbon, Sincere Salutations Stamp Set,
Creamy Caramel, Certainly Celery, So Saffron,  Regal Rose, and Whisper White card stocks, Chocolate Chip Classic Pad (greeting) and the Creamy Caramel Pad(direct to paper technique). 

You'll find the tutorial for making  this flower pot  on  yesterday's post.  The only thing that is a little different for technique is the direct to paper technique that I used on the pot. I took the Creamy Caramel Classic Pad and dragged it across the card stock until I got the desired look on the pot.

 Practice the technique a  little before you try it on your real pot.

Daisy Big Shot Flower Pot

Flower pot patterns have been popping up everywhere.  My friend, Trinia Magana, shared this one with me.  I had so much fun stamping yesterday.  The first flower pot that I designed uses the Big Shot for the flowers.

Here's what the pull up insert looks like:

Supplies: Big Shot, Flower Daisies #2 (medium and small daisies), 1/2" Circle Punch, Eyelet Scallop Punch, Small and Medium Oval Punches, Tea Party Designer Paper, Almost Amethyst, YoYo Yellow,  and Whisper White card stocks, White Organza ribbon, Lovely Lilac Classic Ink, Short and Sweet Stamp set.

Here's a quick tutorial:

Cut card stock to 3 1/2"x 9".
Score the 9" side at 3 1/2" and 7".



Fold the 3 1/2" square end up to the 7" line.



Mark 1/2" in from each side on the fold.  Cut on the black lines. 
You'll cut both layers of card stock at one time.



Fold back the 2" flap.  Choose a decorative punch to use on the edge.
The pot is only held together with ribbon.
The insert is 5"x 2 1/2" (Almost Amethyst)
The layer is 4 3/4"x 2 1/4". (White card stock)

The main thing that you want to watch out for is as you add the flowers, make sure that the flower pot and insert will still fit into a medium size envelope!

That's it!  The steps are pretty quick!
