Now, on to another creative idea for the Christmas Holidays!

You probably remember seeing the beautiful snowflake ornament created with the Lattice Bigz Die. One of my friends and customers, Mary Urspringer created an ornament using the Snowflake Bigz Die.

Here is the Lattice Bigz Die ornament again, in case you missed it.

Now here is the Snowflake Ornament.

Mary used three of the #113460 Snowflake #2 Bigz Die pg 220 $15.95.

You CAREFULLY score them in half.

Here is the trick that I figured out for easily adding the glitter to either of the above projects.

• Score the snowflakes and fold the lattice pieces in half with the smooth sides (pretty sides) together.
• Place each piece on a piece of card board smooth side down.
• Take them outside and spray with a light coat of the 3-M spray adhesive.
• 
  
  
• Now stick one sprayed side of one piece (one half of the piece) to one half of a sprayed side of another piece and so on and so on until all of the pieces are stuck together.

This picture is only showing one piece folded.  So you simply fold the next piece the same way and starting putting one half of each piece together all the way around.          To add the glitter, take the completed project back outside and spray the front sides with a light coat of the glue.

• Pour out a lot of Dazzling Diamonds glitter into the large Powder Pal and just keep patting each side of the project down into the glitter!

Note:  If you glitter the front sides first (as I did with my initial project), you Will get a lot of glitter on the backside of the project, too, and it will be a lot trickier to get it to stick together when you are assembling the pieces.

Of course, you will need to add the White Baker's Twine before adhering the last two sides of the Lattice Ornament.

Lunch with Special Friends

Keren, left, and Nancy, middle are two long time special friends. Nancy moved away and was back down to visit so we enjoyed lunch together this last week.

Keren has been a mentor and friend for twenty three years.  Nancy has very special gift for teaching people to receive love.  I can't quite remember when we met....maybe 10 years ago?

Snow Swirled is Spectacular!

Today I'm featuring a very slight remake of another gorgeous Christmas card.

Carol Payne did an amazing job creating a Christmas tree that really sparkles! I see that I still have a lot to learn about photography. You get a hint of the sparkle, but you can't fully appreciate the dazzling brightness of the tree fom this picture.

Carol used a combination of Heat & Stick Powder, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Creamy Caramel and Riding Hood Red inks to create this outstanding tree!

This is another card that we'll be making in Christmas Card Club.  I'll be posting full instructions after October 27th, which is our first of three classes.

Introducing the 12 Weeks of The Holiday Season

The holidays are rapidly approaching and to help you with that, I am introducing a new service for my customers this year called the 12 Weeks of The Holiday Season.

Are you at a loss for holiday ideas?  Would you like to make your own Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas decorations, projects and cards but don't know where to start?  Do you want to give a hand made gift to someone for Christmas?  Would you love to make some ornaments and tags for your tree and gifts?

If your answer is yes to any of these questions, then say HELLO to the 12 Weeks of The Holiday Season.  This will be a weekly newsletter sent out on Thursday's starting October 2nd.  Each Thursday, the newsletter will contain a card or project (which will include hand made gift ideas, ornaments, tags, etc).  I will list the supplies used to create it and a brief description/instruction (if needed) for you to make this project. 

This is meant to be a basic outline to help you create decorations, cards, gifts, ornaments and tags for the holiday season.  Keep them for yourself to use, or make them for friends and family members.  Some of the projects can be used for teacher gifts and your kids can even help.  The first issue will be released on October 2nd and run for 12 weeks ending on December 18th.  They will also be archived on my blog so if you miss a week, you can always catch up.  I hope you enjoy them.
